16th-century timber frame revival
At Heritage Works, we take pride in our ability to preserve the past. This project involved extensive timber frame repairs to a magnificent 16th-century listed building in Cheshire. Our skilled team undertook numerous repairs, meticulously saving as much of the original timber as possible to maintain its historical authenticity. Crucially, the cement in the infill panels was carefully removed and replaced with breathable lime mortar, followed by a sympathetic breathable paint system. This approach ensures the building's long-term health and integrity, demonstrating our innovative techniques and deep respect for historical construction methods. Chirk Castle Gatehouse: a National Trust endeavour
Our work for the National Trust on the gatehouse at Chirk Castle exemplifies our capability to undertake significant heritage repairs. This vital project involved carefully removing a section of the roof from each gable to access and replace damaged end rafters. New battens were then fitted, and the roof was re-tiled, ensuring the gatehouse's structural integrity and aesthetic appeal were preserved for generations to come. This project showcases our unwavering commitment to quality and our friendly, professional approach even on the most prestigious sites. We're proud to contribute to the conservation of such iconic landmarks, demonstrating our trustworthy and caring attitude towards every building.
